SHELL SPOONS

SHELL SPOONS

Sculpture
Bronze, Shell
2020

The inspiration for this work comes from my grandmother.
I accidentally discovered a shell-shaped scar on her leg,
and she told me that this scar was gouged out by a shell when she was a child.
I believe the scar is like a mark left by nature on my grandmother’s skin.
The shells are not only the spoons in nature,
but are also a metaphor for hurt.
Through this work, I hope to convey my respect for nature and encourage people to embrace their miserableness.
Because our world, life, and nature are all the components of beautiful and painful.

2020
